Structure of Judiciary in Islamabad

Islamabad comprises of two districts namely; Islamabad East and Islamabad West. Both districts are headed by one District and Session Judge each. Similarly there are few Additional Session & District Judges in each District. There are also around five senior civil judges Islamabad working under both districts.

There are separate courts of Family Judges, Magistrates, Civil Judges and Rent Controllers in Islamabad. All the captioned courts are located in the premises of District Courts in Sector F-8 Islamabad.

Apart from the above captioned courts, there are special courts in Islamabad. There is a judicial complex in sector G-11, Islamabad whereby the Banking Court, Drug Court, Insurance Tribunal, Accountability Court, Customs Tribunal and other special courts are located. Also the office of Islamabad Bar Council is located within the same Judicial Complex.

The High Court of Islamabad is located in Sector G-10 Islamabad. It is constitutional court working under the Supreme Court of Pakistan. Islamabad High Court is also heading the entire judiciary of Islamabad.

The labor court of Islamabad is located in Sector F-5. The Federal Shariat Court is in its neighbourhood. Across the road is Supreme Court of Pakistan. Similarly the Services Tribunal of Islamabad is also located in the same vicinity.

Islamabad has 50 Union Councils and 1 Arbitration Council. The Deputy Commissioner office of Islamabad is located in sector G-11, Islamabad. Administration Officers like Assistant Commissioners and Registrars of few departments are also located in the same vicinity of Deputy Commissioner Office.
